My ol man walks out to his truck today to find stripping paint all down the passenger side rocker pannels. :rant: We don't how long its been on the truck, but we are figurin its been on there a few days. My question is what over the counter product can we use to "safely" take the stripping paint off? the more info you guys can give me the better. By the way its an 08 gmc sierra the color is silver birch.

I've used WD-40 before to remove stripe paint and tar before.
Spray it on and rub it off. Then wash the truck.

bug and tar remover and elbow grease. i've used brake cleaner (non-chlorine) to remove emblem goo off paint before. i bet it would remove the line paint fairly easily.

I wonder if heating it up would soften the paint and make it easier? Like leave it in the sun all day or use a heat gun on low.

the ol man decided to use some acetone and if came off fairly easy and doesnt look to have damaged the clear coat at all. thanks for the help guys.
