that is absurd. so what happens after that? i would think it would make more sense for these cars to go to auto recyclers then to immobilize them and make the engines useless.
it made me sad and kind of angry....such a waste. ship these fuckers to Africa or something. at least that way Englishmen have something to drive across the country.
I understand that they don't want the dealerships selling those trade-ins, but really what can you do with them? I know they're would be people that would benefit from these cars. Such a shame.
Salvage yards can still pick through the car and take parts before crushing it. But the engine has typically been the main source of money for those yards. The dealership is required to junk the engine before sending it to the scrapyard. Salvage yards can still source the transmission and any other parts before crushing the rest.
i guess in reality these cars could still make their way on the road if the engines werent destroyed. i think deeming the VIN unfit for selling should be more than enough though. these could be job site vehicles, farm vehicles, junkyard parts running vehicles. wasteful society we live in...its sad.
Cause they get an average of 18 MPG. Which is the limit. If the Regal fit the bill, Id actually go to *runs and hides* Chrystler or Dodge. They are matching the governments money. 9K off a new car is hard to pass up.
