Get the gr2 stuff for sure. Take the calipers off, and cover the seals. Run a flap grinder wheel over the caliper to smooth it out, and use several coats of GR2 over it after thoroughly cleaning it with alcohol.

It will look better than most powdercoating. Just PC'ing over a rough caliper will give so-so results...unless they crank it on thick, but that would chip easy.

I used POR15's Engine Enamel on my calipers. Worked GREAT.
They look powder coated and have held up extremely well. They were paint 4 years ago and there is no dulling, cracking, peeling, and they resist brake dust. They paint on with a brush and smooth out as it dries to a powder-coated glossy finish.

They also come in many colors. One pint will do about 12 calipers.
