2018 GT 10R80 ripped off the FIRST 8 second pass for supercharged 2018 Mustang tonight! 8.82 at 157.5 MPH on a stock engine with a @whipplesuperchargers Gen 5 3.0L blower with a 3.75/20% pulley combo. Insane! It backed it up with a 8.91 and 8.88. @whitem3 and the @midnight__performance crew did @mcleod_racing clutches and a test converter from @circledspecialties. This hasn’t been done yet and we all did it with success. This is promising for the 10R80 aftermarket. This car averaged low 1.4 60s with the stock converter before. Now it’s averaging low 1.3X! All with a 2nd gear launch off the footbrake! Thanks to that @steedaautosports and @vikingperformance suspension!

Very impressive. Also interested in the cost to get there by buying stock and DIY.

I wonder how long the stock engine will put up with that. Surprised if the pistons and rods last very long.
My guess is not too long. They probably have it in a really good fuel to help with detonation. But the pistons and rods are well past their design parameters. They put clutches in the trans for reliability. I would bet that now they went that fast in a stock motor they will either push it until it blows up or remove it and build it.

But sure is cool to see a stock motor go 157 mph sheesh haha
