Happy New Year everyone.
I am going to start this thread more a motivation for me to finish this project.
My goal this winter is to rebuild the front suspension on my Corvair. The plan is all new bushings in poly, new shocks, springs, all steering system, rebuild steering box, sandblast and paint everything.
Last night I dropped the whole front suspension which includes brakes and steering. It is very easy on this car; disconnect brake lines, idler arm, pitman arm, then 6 bolts that hold the crossmember to the frame.
I prepped by soaking the cage nuts with a liberal amount of AeroKroil and I only broke 1. Not bad for a 55 year old car. The whole process took about 2 hours.
This weekend I’ll disassemble the whole thing and start the clean up process.
The big question is can I finish this before March?
This bushing looks OK, NOT!
She’s out!
