Treat them right and they’ll treat you right. Treat them like shit, and that’s what they’ll be.

The Coyote is definitely going to be lower maintenance

Wonder if I'll get beat up for this.

Any old 6.2L gmc or Chevy 1500 CCLB... If that's even a thing. Diesel is over rated.

Nothing wrong with those...but the 07-13 truck interiors are generally worn out/torn up by now.

Other than chewing threw motor mounts and the DOD shit that always fails, they're good trucks.

Rubber buttons might be a constraint you'll have to deal with on a budget!

Disable DOD, agree on the beat up interiors- but they're still comfy cruisers.

solid call on "generally"... i could use a driver door panel but aside from that my interior is pretty solid

the leather interiors faired far better than the cloth or vinyl ones... for sure.

i want to find a denali/escalade interior to swap in though...

DOD disable gets you a little longer, but eventually those lifters fail. Not if, but when.

Hoping in about 2-3 years I'll get a condo in Incline- stay on the Nevada side or splurge and get a vacation home in Truckee/ North Shore. If I keep saving maybe the market will crash and I can buy something nice on the cheap. Been here less than 60 days and already thinking about property #2.
Anywhere from Incline to Donner Summit, not worth planning that far out yet but 6500-8000' elevation( 10-15/20min) from the lake.

Last time we had snow like that though, a few guys on staff just took their sleds to work.

If you realistically need to fit 4-5 people a Tacoma is not going to be a good option.

Towing w/ 4-5 people and sleds plus the elevation and hill climbing you are likely doing that truck is going to be in some big pain.

The 4-5 people comfortably thing is going to be tough. You need something with full crew cab. But the bigger the vehicle the harder it is going to be to manuever on possibly tight forest roads.

Sorry I'm a little late to the game and didn't read the whole thread. I'm in Germany for work so haven't been on in a while.

I dunno man... I been following that market probably almost as close as you may have last couple years.. I am also fully expecting some type of significant crash or correction as well, solely on the increase in the these last 2-3'ish years alone. I hope we are both right.

Totally true, if you put 5 people in a Tacoma.... 200+200 + 150+150+100=800... It has an 1100 lb payload that leaves you 300 to either put in the bed OR use as tongue weight. PS those person weights are total guesses. And the backseat would be so packed.

He also did say it was just something he thew out, he didn't need it. I think he just wants the ability in a pinch. so no standard cab and no baby extended cab like mine that is only good for a purse or a ballerina. lol

Lost out on $60K just by waiting a year. If it doesn't correct or crash in the next 2-3 years, I already have $150K in equity in my home so I may just try to use that plus any extra I've saved.

Yikes

Also picture IL's home values dropping and the buyers drying up, then that epic increase out there.. DA MATH DON'T ADD UP.

perhaps your new truck should have real grippy winter tires..

skeeeetcccchhhhyyyy... I haven't actually driven on Mt Rose highway or even been to Mt Rose yet but I sure the fawk wouldn't be in a rollover situation potentially rolling off a fucking mountain ledge.. I was not impressed with my cousin testing Audi's lane assist with the car pointed straight into a turn and him taking his hands off the wheel coming down the Kingsbury

^People don't understand that AWD =/= automatically equal increased traction/ performance. I have a friend ask me the other day about selling his little FWD Sentra to buy a POS outback because it's AWD and the snow and he wouldn't listen to me when I said he's better off buying snow tires and some chains/ studs. The snow at this elevation(Reno) is equivalent to snowing in Chicago minus less snow removal because it usually melts within a couple days anyway. They just plow the highway and the major roads and call it a day.

Wasn't sure if you're talking about there or here. Buyers haven't necessarily dried up here. Currently the market is slowing down with avg days on market ~30-35 days but I believe that it's due to the fact that homes are starting to get priced out of reach of most local residents. Median income is around 45-50K whereas you need about 80K to actually qualify for a loan.

Talking about IL and buyers drying up here and values dropping with all the IL issues.. so I was already up against that but the increase out by you doesn't help anything or anyone (except maybe the sellers out there).
