Noob Alert! lol So I went to the track for the first time ever last night. (GLD) Had a blast and ran a decent time. I’m not running the most ideal wheel/tire setup (315/30r18 R888) or suspension but my first pass ever ended up being my best with 11.27 @ 125mph.

I think with a better rear wheel/tire setup allowing me to leave off the line harder, I should be able to break into the 10's with ease. What do some of you veterans think??

60 foot says you need a tire for sure. I don’t remember your build thread so if auto..... stall for sure and what slolane said regarding drivetrain.

Trap speed is 10 seconds for sure.

For reference I cut a 1.49 60 ft on a cam only car with a 4000 stall on a 12 bolt rear end with a 3.73 gear

Thanks guys! To answer some questions....

1. Basic rundown on the setup: SBE LS1, 228r 112 cam, ported 243 heads, FAST 102/92 setup, D1sc (7.5psi), FMIC with meth injection, FLT lvl 6 4L65e & Yank PAS3400, stock 10 bolt (3.23) and supporting suspension. (LCA & relo brackets, TA, sway bars, BMR/Koni's)

2. In the pass above I left around 1500rpms. On my other runs I tried leaving at 2K and 2.5K rpms but just smoked the hell out of the tires and ran low-mid 12's. Tire is definitely holding me back.

3. I'm fully aware that I'm on borrowed time with the stock 10 bolt and driveshaft LOL, especially if I put a true drag radial on there. My winter plan now is either a s60 or M9 rear end with appropriate driveshaft along with some 15" rears.

I have 18x10's (295/30 r888) on the front and front sway bar still on so that isn't really helping my cause either I don't think.

If I could hit mid 10's that would be awesome. I still have to re-install my cutout, which my tuner said he thinks would net me ~20rwhp on this setup.

Remove sway bar and swap a set of skinnies. That would really help with your weight transfer. 295s on the front holy hell lol.

If you could leave just a hair harder and get a little better weather it will go 10’s

True, it was quite humid last night.

Sounds like a plan! Yeah, it currently has a meaty setup LOL. 18x10 (295) front, 18x11 (315) rear. On/Exit ramps are very fun now

.

Welcome to the club, say good bye to your extra dough, racing is worse than crack :(

Good luck hitting that goal & race safe!!!

.

Yup, already hooked! lol Looking into new wheels/tires, rear end and driveshaft along with some small other things!

I think gears alone should put you in the 10s :dunno:

That's another thing I have been looking into a lot. Which gear to go with when I order a new rear. (s60 or M9) Since its mostly a street car (highway pulls) I'm leaning towards 3.54 or 3.70s.

3.90’s FTW
Perfect for track and no problem on the highway.
