Hell yeah, it might not even be that. If it's not disengaging properly it could be a slave leaking onto the clutch. If it's stock and you bring it in, not him (just to avoid them being douche bags cause he's a kid) you shouldn't have any problems. They most certainly will try to say it was abused, but if it's slipping under warranty it has to be covered.

Aren’t clutches typically wear and tear items like brake pads or tires? Granted it would be covered if something was leaking onto it, but if it’s just worn I can’t see that being covered.

I had a flywheel loose a pin, which ventilated the trans, soaking/ruining the clutch. Ford wouldn't cover the clutch until I got an attorney involved.
