Ford Focus ST Clutch?

My son's Focus ST clutch is slipping at 26K miles. He says it grinds a bit sometimes when going into 3rd and the revs go up without the car accelerating if he gets on it.

Clutch, right?

If so, what clutch do you guys recommend for a stock Focus ST?

Hell yeah, it might not even be that. If it's not disengaging properly it could be a slave leaking onto the clutch. If it's stock and you bring it in, not him (just to avoid them being douche bags cause he's a kid) you shouldn't have any problems. They most certainly will try to say it was abused, but if it's slipping under warranty it has to be covered.

I just did a quick search, it looks like it's common for the rear main seals to leak onto the clutch, they most certainly have to fix that.

Aren’t clutches typically wear and tear items like brake pads or tires? Granted it would be covered if something was leaking onto it, but if it’s just worn I can’t see that being covered.

A slipping clutch probably wouldn't cause just one gear to grind . I would have them look at the trans . And also the clutch , but the trans internals are more critical.

I had a flywheel loose a pin, which ventilated the trans, soaking/ruining the clutch. Ford wouldn't cover the clutch until I got an attorney involved.

That doesn't make sense .

Focus ST's have issues with trans grinding as well. Common is 3rd. I lost 3rd gear at 28k. Trans was back ordered 8-12 weeks.
