Default How to prevent trailer sag.

I don't want to hear buy a real truck.

04 Tahoe 5.3 205K
New "HD" gas shocks

The truck sags a bit when towing the pontoon boat. But doesn't sag when towing my Powerquest, which I believe to be much heavier. My dads 03 Tahoe has no sag issues with towing the same toon. Truck also sagged more before I replaced the shocks. Since shocks are new what am I missing that might also help with towing and ass sag.

Air bags fa sho. Inflate when towing, deflate when not.

Too much tongue weight on the truck with worn out springs. You need more spring rate. Shocks just dampen the motion of suspension, not support weight.

does the shock go through the spring? if not could do the cheap method and when you know your going to tow, deflate a football put it in the spring, then inflate it.

and yeah, this.

firestone makes a really slick auto leveling kit actually. but it's 4-500 iirc. or you can do it where you just add air to the bags, or where you have switches to the compressor.

if i were to do a setup like this, id do the bags, with a single compressor mounted to both of them because i'd never really have uneven loads, with a switch on the dash to fill or empty the bags.

because more often than not i wouldn't be near a compressor to fill them i don't think..

Your only option is bags. With or without air compressor.

Yes. I like the firestone ones KJ posted best. Just a schrader valve you can fill up or deflate in 30 seconds with an air compressor or bike pump.

Yes, you run the shrader valve to the rear bumper and mount it in some piece of plastic. 5psi unleaded, 30-35psi when towing. I need the same thing for my truck. The coil spring make for a great ride but they sag much more than leafs.

These are the ones I'm buying.
