different style started in the new body style which was like what, 99 or 00?
those years are technically like 8.6 vs my old school style 8.5

Measure width and spring perch with and then just swap the whole rear end. My 10 bolt in my Silverado is 3.73, g80 and disc brakes.

You talking like for a newbodystyle axle?
Theyre way different, and my truck is 5 lug

Years ago I put one of those in my Bronco and it was very easy and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Did not have to mess with the ring and pinion setup and simple to install. Just get use to some clicking from it on turns from it unlocking which I though was cool..

Seems like the gear sets are the same, at least in that article.

I wonder how easily those brakes could be swapped. Guess it depends on the rotor shape and if you could use something 5 lug. I put 4th gen rear discs on my 12 bolt and other than a thin spacer I made, it was bolt on.

disk brakes are the easy thing. 94-96 impala SS/9c1 rear disks are supposedly a direct bolt on.

now finding them can be the hard part.

Hmmm didn't think about that. I feel like people run 15" DR/slick setups. The rotors are 12.8" but the e brake is in the rotor so it sits pretty far in. I'll take a look when I get home later.

They're 6 lug too so you'd have to redrill the axles or get some made. Might be cheaper to do the B body brakes then. The f body brakes wouldn't fit my buick wheels but they're extra small because they used 14" centers to make their 15" wheels. I would of had to use like a 2" spacer to run stockers.
