Rustoleum Peel Coat - Clear top coat for paint protection?

Anyone use this stuff. Its like plastidip but its clear. Same principal. Spray on and let dry. Then peel off like rubber sheet if you are done with it. Im wanting to try this because apparently the sticky tires on my new camaro sand blast the front side of the rear quarters, rock chipping the shit out of them.

Rather than spending hundreds of dollars for clear film, someone on the camaro site suggested using this. Its $10 a can from autozone and should be enough to cover the whole lower rear quarters in clear rubber film. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

the only concern I would have is it not looking smooth.

applying enough "layers" in order for it to be easy to remove may cause an orange peel like look.

I personally have not used this for anything.

Think we had a thread on this stuff when it first came out. It doesn't lo I too good over paint but works as some temp protection for a trip to the track or a road trip

I don't mind reapplying once a month. Plus if it works on keeping the chips off, then I will invest in real clear film to protect the paint in those areas.

It doesn't come even close to a good film. You can still get rock chips with it.

If you don't want to pay for the film, I would say get rock guards instead. I use them on my 2011 & 2015. Worth every penny.

This is what a daily driven 1LE looks like with 1500 miles. Im trying to prevent this. Looked at mine with 170 miles, and I already have two chips on the drivers side. This is crazy. Looks like Im going to get clear film installed. I cant handle this.

Yeah if you really care about quality and longevity, do not spray protect it

Looks like its going that route. Im going to take it to my tint guy friday and have clear film put on the rear quarters.
