Every time I read a story about how a thief got fouled up because they couldn't drive stick, I feel a little better about having a manual car.

Definitely, if its used in a robbery or threat. If you get caught with one while just hanging out being a dipshit then probably some bs charge that will probably get thrown out.

I may just be paranoid but when I had my Mustang I was getting gas at the sketchy gas station. This guy comes up, doesn't appear to be a car guy. asked me if it was manual. I said yes and he's just walked away. Didn't ask anything else. That was the end of the conversation. I've always wondered if he was going to carjack me if it was automatic.
