This is actually pretty neat if you're willing to spend the money. Older generation vehicles with Ford's SYNC system probably experience the same lag and overall sluggish and uncooperative feel of the SYNC system like I do in my F350. I've had a chance to play around with the new system and it is leaps and bounds better. Doing some research today on what it would cost to replace my SYNC unit in the event of a failure (out of warranty now) and I came across this. Apparently it's pretty much a hardware swap-out to upgrade to the SYNC 3 system in older vehicles. I'd consider doing this in the future.
