Learn Me On Nerf Bars

I am not big on the chrome step bars that came on my Tundra. I would prefer black and something that looks a bit better as these look like they have taken a couple of hits. I have been looking into some basic Nerf bars. I don't want to spend several hundred dollars on them, but there are still some decent cheaper options. I also don't know much about the different styles of Nerf bars.

With all of that being said, is Lund a good brand for Nerf bars? I found these and they are priced right and I feel they look good. Seem to be made of good quality materials. Thoughts? Opinions? Other suggestions? Do most basic Nerf bars come down about the same length? I am assuming the step pad will line up with the doors appropriately, or do I need to look for something specific? Thanks for the help in advance.

I am not a fan. I'd rather have nothing than that style. Get the pop out ones if you. Red the step. Another alternative would be rock sliders. Usually can be had with a small step or they can work as one on their own.

I like those styles a lot. My only concern is them not hanging down enough. My wife is 5'2" on a good day. I need something that will make it easy for her to get in and out of the truck.

Those do seem like really high quality. I am not sure how I like that style on these Tundras though. I was looking up some photos and they look off to me on this thing. If I had a Silverado like initially planned, I would do those as I think they go well with that style.

Yea I guess I didn't think of that. I have seen sliders for other vehicles with steps that hang down a bit lower than the sliders. I just briefly looked so that may be something that exists.

What about those pop out steps when you open the door? Guessing not nearly as cheap

I wouldn't mind the pop out ones at all... I would actually prefer them. The electric versions are over a grand though. Just a few bucks more than I wanted to shell out right now. Maybe down the road though.

Those seem like really high quality. Gotta pay to play I guess. I am not sure if I like that style on these trucks. They are like $200 more than I was thinking about at this time. They are a nice looking piece though.

Could always look for a place around you that fabs them too. Could be cheaper and better than anything you could buy off the shelf. I always see ads for it around here and I'd assume similar for your area.

Ares Fab (IIRC) fabs up a bunch of Jeep stuff and advertises on CL all the time too. Maybe he could do some similar to what Joel is talking about.

I have N-Fabs. I love them. Except when they rusted, and I would of had to pay for shipping back to Texas out of pocket for the warranty claim.

So instead I had them Line-X'd. I love them, but the $$$ was hard on the wallet can't lie about that.
