2010 Sierra Denali 1500

Learn me on these fine truck specimens. I am looking at a 2010 Sierra 1500 Denali AWD as my new vehicle. It has the 6.2 and the towing capacity is around 9k so that should cover my towing needs with the addition of some helper bags. Any other info or opinions on this truck would be awesome!

trans's's suck until after 10' which were 6l80s in the Denali. was my only gripe in the truck while I owned it. miss it, sometimes.

yes. pump and TCM got upgraded along with a couple other parts after 10' Well known for lazy shifts

Thank you sir! I am going to have to start looking a bit more here. I am thinking a 2500 is just too much for the occasional towing I am going to be doing. I doubt I end up towing more than 6-7k. At least this half ton has a good tow rating.

Be sure to consider if you want Awd or selectable 4wd.... There are arguments for both based on your usage.

That is a good point. Been looking up information on the AWD of the Denali and it is a full time 40/60 split. Unfortunately, I think the selectable 4 wheel drive is most likely what I would need. I wish I wasn't looking for such a specific truck, it is driving me nuts.

Found a 2011 2500HD right down the road from me I am going to call about and check out today if the guy still has it. Just over 99k miles, crew cab 4X4, single owner with no accidents. Looks like all of the diffs, transfer case, and brakes were just flushed and filled, serviced, and resurfaced. I wish he wasn't asking almost 25k for it, but I am hoping to talk him down to 23k or lower and I will hop on it as long as it drives and looks right. Even his listed price isn't the worst deal ever, it just isn't that good of one. I am excite.

Oh, and it is a Texas truck so it looks brand new underneath in the pictures :naughty:

Cloth, white exterior, work truck trim. It has cruise control, power locks and windows, and a CD player radio...that is about it and as bare bones as I would want to go minus the CD player.

i kick myself for not trying to figure out that red 6 and a half foot bed ecoboost that was around 23-24k... ooh well. i like my truck.

I think the 3500 is more suitable to what you want to do though. It may get crappy mileage but it'll get the same loaded down with adventure gear too. EcoBoost is the better choice for a spacious, "efficient" DD that you can press into tow/haul duties when need be.
