I have had two Dodge trucks over the years and it is not a surprise nor interesting. They just fall apart. I can't speak for the last 7 years or so, but anything 1990's and 2000's have a reputation for not being built well.

YUP. Just rolled 35,000 miles put on mine since July when I got it. If I keep it that long I'm hoping for 200,000 before I have to touch anything major.

200k really isn't as hard to hit anymore with proper maintenance. Though I'm interested to see how these turbo and DI cars fair when they hit higher mileage

Yeah, I was gonna say... Show me cars hitting 300,000 and what they put into them and then I'll be impressed. Shit, half the cars I've owned have had over 200k on them.

The motors are fine, I'm sure motors are engineered to run (with proper maintenance) 300k+. It's everything around it Transmissions being a big part of that, and obviously electrical issues. Bearings, ball joints, etc are wearable/replaceable items. Anything 3800 powered could probably go 500k miles if they had a transmission that lasted that long. The s10's with the 4banger steel pushrod motor are hitting 500k miles on the s10 forums. With just replacement of above items. That's a cheap truck to run for a very long time.

Just never change them. Thats the trick. My 2v ran fine on original plugs till 90k miles. Decided to change them....shot one out two days later lol.

Part of the reason I bought a 4Runner. I plan on keeping it 15 years. I doubt I'll break 100k in that time though.

I don't think i'd do that. my dad just blew up his 07 3V with 120k. Stock plugs.

Did the plug come apart or something? No other reason I can think of that a plug could kill a motor.

i dont think he ment hte plug killed the motor, just that when it blew it had stock plugs
