2016 Veloster reviews for a daily driver?

The Veloster was designed before Hyundai really started to dial in their suspension tuning. It's a cool looking car but still drives like a compact car and not a sport hatch, even in turbo guise. The accessory manual shifter is a must with its really good, positive feel and solid engagement.

If it truly is going to be a strictly work and back car, i wouldnt bother with a turbo anything for a 2 mile commute. I drive about 8 mile to work and my car is still barely warmed up to operating temps by the time i get there. But if you do actually want a car you can also have some fun in, i 2nd the fiesta/focus st

I had an Accent and enjoyed it for a commuter, but the 138hp N/A setup is pretty boring. I didn't like the Veloster.

I too would say look for a Fiesta ST if you want a nice small turbo commuter.

Had a standard Veloster and it was a nice car for a commuter but it really isn't sporty or quick at all. Has great standard features though.

Enjoyed my GTI before it ten fold

My wife had a 2012 Veloster (had, 35mph hit totaled it) and it looked cool both inside and out but it's far from sporty or quick. If you want fun and sporty definitely get something else if you don't care about that and want a decent looking (IMO) car then go for it.

Rear visibility isn't horrid, it's non-existent. You could hide a 747 in the blind spots but that's easily cured by stick on blind spot mirrors.

so if you barely drive it why buy a new car? Just seems like there a lot cheaper/better cars that get better mpg but at that little mileage just drive the t-bird till it dies.

I never had a problem with visibility in the car. Another thing I liked was it gives you the look of a two door but the convenience with its 3rd door.
