My 99 astro 4.3 has a single ignition coil. They fail every so often for some reason so I replace them with AutoZone units as I've got a lifetime warranty on it through there. I am convinced these are junk because I'm averaging one every year and a half and it takes the whole vehicle down.
Does anybody know of a better solution? Does anybody know if there is a setup like the 3800 where there are multiple coils instead of just one? Msd makes a few but I don't know how reliability would be. Any advice good.
is it a tbi, ive had no luck with tbi junk, mostly ignition caps and tps sensors, i used to have to put a tps sensor in my old truck every year, and every so often the cap would get moisture in it and the thing wouldnt start
I've used MSD for a long time and found their stuff to be very reliable. Had an MSD coil for my 84 Xfire, currently using MSDs on the LT-5. The ignition module was usually the problem for me.
