I had the viper system 4 years ago. Can't remember the model. I loved it but sold the car. There were no cons that I can remember. Just a tons of Pros. Loved being able to open it from anywhere!

There is a fee because the alarm box needs a cellular CDMA connection so you can remote start it from anywhere. This would be great for those that have cars in parking garages way far from their home or office. But if you are in eye shot, dont get the cellular ones. Besides doesnt onstar offer the remote start app too for 2010 and newer GM cars?

I use this all the time on my truck if its parked outside all cars should come with it. I cant believe when I ask people with new gm trucks if they are using it and hey say no. The onstar one works 95% of the time. I wouldnt be happy if I was paying for it and it told me it couldnt find my vehicle.

It is worth it Imo if you are not always close to your car. Parking structures, airports, train users will benefit most. You can start your car 20minutes away and walk up to a warm car.
