Hi Gents, my Sierra's low tread all seasons are not cutting it any longer. I am faced with the decision to go out and either buy a new set of semi aggressive tires on the factory 16's ( polished aluminum and not in the best shape yet still presentable) or buy a set of new take off's from a random guy who went right to 35's or whatever and took the factory wheels off his 50k truck and is looking to recoup 1k.

4 brand new aggressive tires ( nittos or gy duratrac) $600-750 265/75/16
this guy is selling a set in lombard. https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/wto/5369333377.html

Or buying a set of take offs with little to no mileage for $800-$1000
Bigger and nicer looking rims yet mundane all season tires and I could maybe sell my stock stuff for $200.

what would you do?

Those last rims look awesome.

Could always get snow tires for the stock wheels and run those shit all seasons the rest of the year :dunno:

that was kinda my thought. Picking up some low rolling resistance, good gas mileage, factory wimpy tires on nice factory take offs and picking up some 245's for the stock 16's I have now and make it a super capable winter ride!

keep in mind with take-offs that the factory finish is going to have less life than a new set of wheels. Depending on how long they were used that may be three years down the road or one year worth of winter before the clear is bubbling up.

nabbing some curb rashed or corroding junk that you like the style of, then powder coating may be a more durable cheap-ish option
