Trying to find white with black interior is like trying to find bigfoot. Her other option is the metallic grey but I just know I'll be spending a lot of time in the garage with her car and my detailing gear. She initially liked the orange but luckily she's starting to fade from that choice.

There's a RS7 and an S6 down the block from me. I may go take a look at them.

I really like them but I have a feeling I don't know if i'll be happy with them for the long haul. I just don't know what I want and what i'll be happy with. lol.

I don't even know. For the first time in my life I can't think of anything. I mean there's lateral moves like an S8 or a new 7 series a couple years down the road but both come at significantly more expense and a fuel bill.

To move upwards to something nicer I have to start looking at stuff that's way out of my price range. So I guess realistically my next car would be a P85 Tesla with Auto Pilot maybe? Maybe a P85D if prices get relatively reasonable in the next few years but probably not even that. I'm uh... I'm... Content. What a weird feeling.

I would like to get my wife out of her FX35 and into some sort of low mileage lease SUV. I keep thinking Lincoln MKC for that.

If you're looking for all out performance and don't need real back seats, get the GTR.

Also, I think at least a couple people from the Sunday Morning Coffee Crew had a newer M3/M4 and ditched them quickly due to the feel of the car just not being there like previous gens.
I agree they aren't direct competitors.

Family is just me and the wife, space for 4 is not a consideration.

For me the M4 would be an upgraded daily. Something with all around real world performance and 3-4 season capability. I honestly would need to be blown away by it to consider it.

The GTR is a significant performance and cost upgrade. It would be a weekend toy. From a performance perspective It's more in line with what I want though. But it will require sacrificing my great daily for more of a simple cost effective ride as well as selling the cobra.

I'll probably should make a thread on this going forward

After the wedding, we'll probably be buying a family vehicle. Some kind of mid size truck. My fiance likes her Mom's '16 Rav 4.

I would love to get out of my Impala, but, once I get a new job, Ill treat myself to something newer. Trying to plant the seed for a pickup truck.

in the next couple years I'll end up getting rid of the jeep and buy another truck. likely a
cheap GM LS motored beast, to pull a boat. zero desire to buy a "new" car.

Replacing the wife's jeep, a million options in the small SUV market, but we are both partial to this and its easily the most fun of all the choices

Some things may be changing at work, and I may have to go into the office 5 days per week. Right now I work from 2 days per work which makes the 37 mile commute bearable. Depending on the circumstances I can see two things happening.

1) Sell the R8 and use the equity to help purchase a home more north and reduce the commute.
2) Sell the civic and purchase a car I actually enjoy driving to and from work.

In my head, I'm starting to rationalize option 2 more because I'd love to hold onto the R8. I still plan on moving north, but I really can't do it until the Audi is completely paid off. If I were to go with option 2 my next realistic purchase would be either a new or gently used GTI or new/used Focus ST. A 535 is still an option depending on what price I can find them for now that gas is so low.

Next realistic car purchase will be some kind of used truck for the GF. That is if her 1998 civic ever dies. The spedo hasn't worked consistently in years and are guessing it has more than 300K on it.

What year Civic do you DD? Is a GTI that much more fun to drive than a civic or just more comfortable? I don't know how much you have fell in love with the R8, but I feel like I would regret selling a car like that for a better house location.

The civic is a 2009, and yes, the GTI is way more fun to drive than a civic. The civic is a transportation device, that's it. Does a good job getting me from point A to B, but sometimes I feel like I'm going to fall asleep. The GTI is a car I could see myself cruising around in for fun. My hopes is that driving too and from work would feel like a cruise, hopefully.

I love the R8, and I would likely regret selling it which is why I'm trying to figure out a way to keep it.
