Dad is going to be replacing the OEM Goodyear Eagle Supercars that are currently on his 2013 PP Mustang GT. What's a good summer DD? He lives down in Florida so definitely doesn't have to worry about bullshit cold or snow. Good treadwear, decently priced, and road noise would probably be the 3 biggest factors. He seemed to like the Supercars that were originally on it, and they are right around the price-range he was looking at Tirerack. So what's the good replacement tires to get?

(just a note, yes his PP car came with Supercars because it's a convertible, and apparently the convertible PP cars came with the Goodyears instead of the Pirelli's)

Continental Extreme Contact DW is the perfect tire for a sporty daily driver. The sidewall is a little softer, so they ride comfortably and they hook pretty good from a dead stop or low speed roll. They are quiet and excellent in the rain.

I have about 10,000 miles on mine with about 40 1/4 mile passes, 4 autocross events, and 2 trips to the tail of the dragon. Even with all of that abuse, they have about 50% tread life left on them. Performance hasn't degraded much either.

They aren't quite as responsive as something like a Michelin PSS or even the BFG sport comp 2, because of the softer sidewall. The trade off though is how quiet and comfortable the Continentals are in comparison.
