5.3 Tahoe MAF Issue

Few months ago the truck tripped a few MAF codes and was generally running rough. Hesitation, low/rough idle. I cleaned the MAF and reset the light and everything was normal up until a few days ago. No light yet but the poor drive-ability is back. I cleaned the MAF again but didn't drive the truck yet. Any reasoning behind this? I can understand the first time it happened if I never cleaned the MAF and it had 100k+ on it but I regularly clean it regularly.

Should I just bend over and buy a new MAF? ($135 GM)

Maybe you should drive the truck and see if the issue persists. Maybe its something else.

Check the wires at the plug. If all good, replace the maf.

Vette and Hoe should be the same. Swap them and see

yes. Thats why I clean the MAF every oil change. 6K miles or so.

Cleaned it at 10PM at night, and like to get it dry overnight before I drive the truck again. Walked to train this morning.

I also regularly clean the TB. But haven't pulled out the IAC to look at it.

what codes were being thrown?
the 04 tahoe should have a drive by wire throttle body, so no IAC. intake plenum gasket leaks are pretty common on these trucks

Low MAF frequency codes or something like that.

I had the same issue with the S10 a couple years ago. I ditched the k&n and went with an afe dry flow filter and haven't had any issues since.
