The clutch is fine, and has shown no sign of slipping. Granted, we're not drag racing the thing or doing tons of launches, but it's all good. Our lease is 2 years/24k miles so if the engine fails at 50, I call that a "not my problem"

I dunno, maybe I'm just used to what the GTI and 335 get with similar mods, but to me this actually is disappointing. I love the ST cars stock, disappointed as far as their mods though.

The ST is a 1.6L engine though, so it's really apples to oranges. 50whp is a pretty nice gain for the money either way.

Yeah, I think you can get Focus STs for around 20k even. Ford is willing to deal, VW acts like their shit don't stink.

I was just comparing the engines, not necessarily the cars. The GTI and Fiesta aren't in the same class at all.

i know they are different classes... i don't think you can get a focus st for 20k new though either... fiesta under 20k yes but not a focus.

50whp out of some basic boltons and a tune on a 1.6L engine is impressive no matter how you cut it...

its just a matter of time before someone does a SHO (shogun II) swap on one of these or puts the bigger Focus ST motor in it! Just like they did with the Festiva.
