and i'd bet the 2.7 is quick to 60 because of some insane gearing it has or something...

like i said... trucks have too many options & configurations to just be like hey here is a drag race.

i don't think i'd wind up in an ecoboost personally.

if I'm paying ecoboost money I'm getting a ram ecodiesel if I have to buy a brand new truck.

Granted, i would never buy a brand new truck so that's why this entire thing is moot.

Yea, I bought my 240hp Eco-Diesel to drag race LOL. NOT. I'd like to see any of those trucks get 26mpg overall with 80% highway driving and 20% sit-and-go traffic on an 800 mile road trip.

exactly.

0-60 times, albeit cool for trucks... would probably be one of the last deciding factors on what truck i purchased.

It's not an ideal test but all of the trucks were racing under the same conditions so it's not like it was slanted in anyone's favor. I think the underlying point is that the Ecoboosts aren't sacrificing speed for fuel economy.

And it's not like you're racing 0-100 in your pickup truck anyhow.

The 2.7 EcoBoost is enticing...it's only an $800 option over the NA 3.5 V6 too. The 3.5 EB is a $2300 option and the 5.0 is a $1600 option.
Kay Jay I'm going through the build and price, and it doesn't say what the rear axle ratio is for the 2.7. It doesn't seem to come with any heavy-duty payload or towing packages that change the ratio higher. I kind of assumed it is coming with a 3.31 open diff, but I could be wrong.
