Would like to spruce up my DD with some tint, a set of lowering springs and some fancy lookin' rims. Nothing crazy, not hella flush. I've made a decision to keep my TDI instead of getting a new GTI, so might as well make it my own. Lip spoiler and black gti grill are also on my list. Thanks to DanJoy for making me want to do exterior mods on my car so quickly lol

Car is a blue jetta TDI 2013. Photos are GLI jettas and in grey, but you get the idea. Rim look and lowered stance will be quick close, no coilovers, but decent drop springs.

Three styles of rims, all 18s

1. In either grey or black

Save money for your wedding and take a baller honeymoon, don't waste money on new rims until your up for new tires. Also, you will still look like a Taint no matter which weeks, so get some pink ones.

ummm get your Regal running?

Future wife and I talked about going to a gti or new a3, but we both love the jetta and I spend about 20 hours a week in it, sometimes more, its my office. I would like to do a few things to get it the way I'd like, no power mods or anything, just basic outside changes. Regal running has nothing to do with putting rims/tires on my daily

Pink wheels? VMR? :ca:

For those saying #1, I agree they have to be black, I think the contrast with the gunmetal finish and the black face will look good. For reference here is a blue jetta stock with just the rims, not lowered, and then a toffee brown one with the exact setup I'd go with as far as lowered and look, though deciding between ET35 and 45 for poke

I used some wheel calculator to decide between et45 and et35. I think mine stock were 18x7.5 et42.5 and I went with 18x8.5 et45. I wouldn't want them to stick out much more. With the rear camber on the GTI the bottom of the rears are already out past the fender. Or you can always play with wheel spacers. I like mine how it sits but that's what I originally planned on.

Yea I've messed around with a calc on that too and going off pics. It seems without spaces on a jetta 18x8.5 et 40 is like perfect. Stock is something awful like 16x7 et 51  Stock GTI wheels are perfect, GLI are more sucked in, guys use like a 10mm front spacer and 15mm rear to get them flush if they stay with stock.

18x8 ET 35 is pretty damn close, it sticks out like a .1" more than flush. ET 45 is just inside. If I was going coils then I'd really have to watch out for tire fitment, but springs I should be ok going with a standard 225/40/18

#3 for sure. i dunno the difference between 18 and 19 but my bro has 19s on his jetta and has cracked multiple rims due to lack of sidewall. food for thought, may consider 17s to keep some sidewall since you drive it a lot.

Appreciate it, 17s I'd just keep the stockers, 18s seem to be the perfect size, though I'm going to go with a stock size tire, no stretch or anything. 19s are just a tad too big imho and you have to run a really thin tire on them both for size vs total height.

I'd definitely not do 19's as much as you drive. Even with 18's and 225/40/18 I find myself on constant pothole watch. Closer I get in to the city the worse it gets. 225/40/18 does stretch a tiny bit with an 18x8.5 but it's not extreme. I like it a lot.
