Anyone else notice that software failures seem to be on the rise? My stepdad's Honda suddenly would not start and ran poorly after we jumped it. Ended up needing a warrantied software flash.
A friend also had his Edge's software fail. He ended up trading the vehicle in thinking it was falling apart. After I talked to him, it sounded to me like another software failure needing a flash.
Can anyone explain to me why the software on modern cars suddenly fails? I would think it would either be good or not good from day one? How can a car run fine for a year and then BAM, the software starts acting up and gets fixed by a simple flash?
