ET Street vs ET Street II - Thoughts?

Looking for folks who have run both or one or the other. Looks like I can get either in a 19 (I have since been corrected) and while its still not going to be optimal in that size, its gonna be better than what I have now.

I dont know why, but I always thought the Street IIs were garbage, but reading around, maybe not?

Sooo looking for opinions.

I wanted to pick up the R888s but Toyo has told me they are 30-60 days out from even going into production again so they can eat shit.

I have run and I am currently running the ET street radial on my weld wheels. Never had issues with them launching or traction up top at the track. Good on the street as well. No issues in the rain when driving normally either.

I thought the radial 2's were the bigger sizes/smaller sidewall , and different construction because of it .

I would call Mt and ask if they both come in 19" sizes . Doesn't seem to make sense why they would . If there is a reason they would tell you . Whether it's compound or different belt pattern or something .

I ran the first ET streets on my red g8... car hooked great and handled fine.

1.6x 60ft as well, spraying out of the hole

Not really sure what the street 2's have to offer other than addition sizes for bigger wheels. Don't be a pansy and get some 15's with mt pro radials.

Have you checked out nt05r's in your size. They are decent sticky tire but last much longer than a mt would

My IIs were pretty good when I had the fagstang. 1.7 60s with the factory garbage LCAs. I remember one time I was driving home from Strats because it started pouring oceans on us and the tires did just fine in the rain also.

Only place I can find those are on ebay. Nitto doesnt even say they make them

Take it back, Lethal also has them.

I had them on the 04 and they did well enough.

I had the originals in a 26 and last year went to the 2s in a 27.5 and hooked the same with both. The 2s are a little better in the rain due to the tread difference but wear and grip have been the same for me so far.

Either will be fine for street use. Ok for rain as long as you drive normal. With your horsepower all tires will suck in the wet once it gets into boost

I could see the argument for the originals bein a little better with more contact patch but otherwise I see no difference.

Only reason I went with the 2s was the fact that I wanted a taller tire and they didn't have the size I wanted in the original.

I have run both. Both will hook up at the track and do well on the street. Well maybe not at the 1K hp you make.


I liked the II's because I got some thoughts in my head that it with the extra tread if I got caught in the rain it would be better at gettign the water out of the tire.

That web site is wrong. The largest size the original ET street radial comes in is a 275/40/17. Anything in a 19" size is a II. Same compound just a different tread. The only reason people say the II is shit is because they get a smaller sidewall and that effects traction.
