Oh come on, you can do better than that!

we have gone 80+ miles in a day on them... pegged in the desert when it's 110*... and we have gone 20 miles in knee deep snow at 7-10k feet.

Is that a Grizzy 660?

nope. all of them are honda's that have more miles on them than you could ever put on around here and are used to work like mules.

iirc they are 400's or 500's... go about 45 or so wot

one of them actually tumbled down a cliff once... they got down to it... flipped it over and drove it home.

What are you looking to use it for Eagle? Trail, off road, dunes? I can definitely give you some direction on a machine, but, I need a starting point ;)

Not looking for anything super fast... 45mph is MORE than enough. Utility is fine by me. I don't need him doing 100mph through a field. Hell, 45mph is enough to kill yourself... :picard:

Towing/ hauling anything? 4x4? CVT Auto, semi auto or full manual trans?

Here's my suggestions

-Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4- They get a bad rap because people don't maintain the CVT system/ use the High/Low improperly and smoke belts. Good quads, but, pricey.

-The grizzly is a good machine from what I hear, but I have no experience with them, as well as the Honda utilities, but, the hondas have a semi-auto gearbox as opposed to the Polaris CVT and grizzly. Definately stronger, but, in my opinion, if I'm not racing around beating on them on the trails, I hate shifting.

Yamaha Warrior 350 is a sport quad, not increcibly fast, but will do 50+ 2x4 and more trail/sport oriented vs. utility and can be had cheap. Honda 300-400ex is another contender, but more expensive.

-Suzuki machines are good as well. Mike@Devo2ning has a 98 Suzuki KingQuad 300. Hi/Low/Ultra-Low 2wd/4wd/4x4 with diff lock, 5 speed semi auto. Things are indestructible seemingly.

If I were you, I'd get a 4x4 machine. Then you can come to the badlands and cliffs with us :bigthumb: . You will be shit shocked with what these machines can do.

I have a 2000's Yamaha Bear tracker at my parents. 250cc single with a clutchless 5spd. Thing has been prefect for the most part for us. Its a base model quad but it's been running fine forever.

Only thing was that we broke something in the trans from too many neutral drops...:io:
