Sportauto did a dyno too, they are stating 465 flywheel HP. This is about what I would expect out of this gen M3, don't know why they are advertising at 425HP. I honestly think they lose a lot of sales in the US because of this.

M4 dyno test by Sportauto 465hp/577 nm

Were they dynoing a regular production vehicle or is it one of the ringers BMW does the rounds with? I remember the 335s the rags got the first time around (2006?) had some freakish numbers. The 335s were underrated as well, but not as underrated as those special ones.

Generally they underrate but if they're underrating that much.... Damn. If this isn't a ringer, they should really up the official number. Can't wait to see some of these well-modded.

Under promise and over deliver.

Sales will be fine as people that buy these will soon find out that they make a lot more HP than advertised.

Another example.

On the scales, this F80 weighed in at 3590lbs (pounds) with a nearly 50/50 weight distribution. The dyno numbers are what really impressed us, though. BMW claims this motor makes 425hp and 406lb-ft tq at the crank; on our Dynojet this M3 recorded 424hp and 425lb-ft tq at the wheels!

I played with an M3 on the expressway today. They are menacing in your review mirror.

The throttle response on them is incredible. I'm running stock downpipes and a stock intercooler so my 470hp comes with a lot of turbo lag because I never opted to get the downpipes since the car was under warranty. That's a car that's clearly setup for the power. He got on it and it moved whereas I was waiting for my snails to spool.
