Did ford institute the key codes again? The older cars had them. Could program an unlock code and stuff I thought.

Hardly a unicorn. I've seen at least 5-10 other red STs.

Hm. People have been trying to get this going for a little while now, but there is now an official group buy for the Damond catch can.

Damond Motorsports Oil Catch Can kit Group Buy

This is the one ive been wanting....i just dont know if a $15 discount on a $185 item is enough incentive to get me to pull the trigger right now. The GB goes until the 24th, so I've got some time to decide I guess.

I'm trying lol. Barely have enough time to relax lately. By the time my off weekend comes around work gets hammered and I end up working 12+ hour days and I'm tired lol. I've been trying to get the truck back in shape and ready to re-tune so I can get off this shitty FMS tune.

Before I install the OCC I want to clean the valves then install my NGK LT7IX plugs, Boomba shifter bushings, still have to log for another revision on 93 so I can finish it off, and THEN work on my 100 octane tune. Still need to get on a dyno though as well to compare before and after turbo swap on 93.

I'm very close to actually going to a dealer to trade in the Jeep for one of these. Fuck, I'd have about the same room as the Patriot with the seats down yet much more fun to drive around.

I love my ST. I get 36mpg highway without any drafting tricks @ 65-70mph, and about 32mpg about 75mpg. I also average about 26mpg on my daily commute with an average speed of 27mph. So its good on gas.

It stops like you hit an arrestor cable on an aircraft carrier. And it turns like its on rails. It almost dives into the corners. If you start accelerating mid corner it actually turns in faster as long as you don't overpower the tires.

Acceleration is acceptably fun. Its only 250hp so its not like its a superstar, but the amount of torque and the response of the turbo means it drives very much like a bigger V8 car. It does not care what gear you are in. 6th gear @ 45mph? Need to get back up to highway speeds? No need to downshift. 6th gear @ 75mph, need to overtake an asshole? No need, just mat it. The turbo will come in and it'll accelerate almost as fast as if you downshifted into 4th. Full boost is available by 1800rpm, though between 1000-1700 the response is slower, but by 2000mph response is near instant. At 2500 or above it only takes about a quarter of a second to go from vacuum to 19psi. It really doesn't care what gear its in, EVER.

Now, I do have some gripes. The rear seats do not fold completely flat. And unless you are Peter Dinklage you are going to have to remove the rear headrests JUST to get them semi-flat as well as moving your seat forwards. To fold my rear seats down, I have to adjust my seat so that my knees are touching the dash, I'm only 6' tall.

The ST comes equipped with a full sized spare tire, so the rear deck is raised about 4" over the standard Focus, reducing cargo room. And due to that, the cargo area has a step as it transitions from the rear deck, down to the folded rear seats.

The Upgraded sony stereo in the ST2/3 packages doesn't rock out like it should. My G6's Monsoon system was way better.

The brake dust on the 2013 and early 2014's is horrendous, you will be cleaning your wheels weekly if you ant them sparkly. Me? I've given up. However brake life is good, 2 track days and almost 40,000 miles later I'm on the same pads and fluid it rolled off the assembly line with. And on those track days I had about 4 25m sessions, they held up okay, but there was some fade but never an unsafe amount of fade, I always had brakes.

The Eagle F1's are pretty good for an OEM tire, there are better ones out there when it comes time to replace them, but they do great as long as the temps are above 50°F. These are summer tires and you will need to either trade them in for All seasons, or acquire a set of Winter rims/tires. Don't go less than 225 on the snow tires. You can go as low as 205's, I did for $$$ reasons, but while they rock in deep snow, I can spin them through 4th gear in the winter on dry cold roads. 225s-235's would fix that.

Make sure the front bumper MATCHES the fenders. Many of them don't, some worse than others. My car matched, up until I had transport damage and the dealer I bought it from did a horrible job matching it, and never fixed it. I will probably have to pay myself to get it fixed. The dealers excuse was it was a different material and so the color won't match. While that is absolutely true, the rear valance is made of the same material as the front bumper, and the valance matches the rear 1/4 panels perfectly.

Paint is thin on these cars, rock chip problems will happen. I advise the 3M clearbra to help that. Check the paint thoroughly on these. Ford had lots of issues on the Focus line in general with Fish Eye and debris in the paint. Several people also reported issues with the factory painting over masking tape and such.

I love driving the car, but I'm not blind to its problems. Some you might not care about. others might drive you batty.
