Because SCT is expensive and you have to wait for the tuner to schedule you in if you want to get the tune dialed in. And god forbid if you want the SCT tuner itself ON TOP of buying the handheld, you may as well buy a standalone system.

$600 for the software and ability to tune any supported car anywhere? Why the fuck would anyone want SCT if HPT is available?

You have to buy credits for extra cars. You get a credit or two I think when you buy the suite, but if you want to tune more cars you need to buy more credits.

Unless you have a radical combo, you can get the tune pretty spot on by data logging and working remote with any number of tuners. These cars aren't easy to tune "right", so in my opinion going with a pro is worth the extra money. Plus like I said SCT is the industry standard for Modular Fords.

If you pay for a tune from AED I'm fairly certain Jon Lund won't look at it unless you pay him. Then you just wasted $100 because now you had two people looking at it versus the $100 per 2 credits and literally anyone on the HPT forums can take a gander if you upload it. For free. Tuning isn't hard. I went from being dumbfounded looking at tables in HPT to knowing what every single cell meant in less than a couple weeks with my GTO.

Handhelds are for lazy people. It's the number one reason I never tuned my Mustang. I'll do it myself and learn myself.

Doesn't support the 6.2 either but fuck it. Or maybe it does but only up to 2013 strategies. Probably gunna buy it because it really won't matter what car I want now a long as it has a Coyote or an LS in it.

Exactly. It could tune my Lumina and do a minivan. I'd say it's pretty well rounded and a good buy

If I buy the $499 standard suite, can anyone help me tune my car?

Do yourself a favor and spring for the pro version. It has on-board logging(no need to have the laptop plugged in), and has I/O ports to log widebands, control nitrous, etc. Being able to log the wideband sensor made the tuning on my LS1 firebird go SO much quicker/easier.
