2014 GM Truck Recall
It seems the woes continue for GM. After last week's 2015 Yukon test drive fire, this week GM announced that it is recalling 419,000 trucks and SUVs. These include all 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500s as well as the brand new 2015 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Yukon XL.

According to GM, the recall is in response to a "transmission oil cooler line that is not securely seated in its fitting." "If the line is not securely seated and transmission oil leaks from the fitting, the oil could contact a hot surface and result in a vehicle fire," GM said.

It is unclear if this was the problem with the Yukon that caught fire last week, but this is a serious issue and doesn't help GM's reputation. Especially with the announcement of the recall of 172,000 Chevy Cruze sedans with front axle defects.

We would hate to be GM Public Relations right about now.

I'm not saying the others do or don't. I just laugh my fucking dick off because this is exactly why they were bailed out in the first place.

Let's not forgot the first few thousand Sonics didn't have some of their front brake pads installed. Or the fact the Volt was an absolute flop despite "omgomgomg EV these will be flying off the lots with 300 miles per charge" to which we then find out it's maybe 40 miles then all gas motor once your charge runs out.

Ford Windstar recall list - National automotive news | Examiner.com

Ford has issued a recall for the Windstar minivan that affects a total of 575,000 vehicles. If you own a Ford Windstar van from 1998 to 2003, you are affected by this recall and should visit your nearest Ford dealer. The recall is issued due to corrosion on the rear axle. NHTSA says that road salt is the cause for deterioration.

they put people in enterprise rental cars at $35 per day... for months on end  when we checked these people out at the end of their rental terms- most of the rental bills were a few grand... more than the POS fords they were driving were worth. And instead of just "ending" the problem and giving the families a few grand for their vans and being on their way... they paid a couple grand for rental cars... and then glued supports on to the rear of the vans

There was another one on this generation Windstar as well, where the cradles would crumble away due to rust. Every single person who owns one of these things should walk away...immediately
