Need Cats

So Ive swapped O2 sensors and still getting a P0430 code. I had a shop take a look and they said that the cats have failed. (208K miles and they are stock. Id believe its time) They wanted to charge me $1400 for them. To which I and left.

The car is an 01 Camry. Kicker part, its a California car, yet was bought brand new in IL. I am being lead to believe there are 2 cats for the car, but cannot find a definitive answer.

I am going to try Velazquez and sons in the morning after work and see what they say. Anyone else got a place that wont rape me with no lube?

Whatever you do, don't have them weld a universal cat in. Being a Toyota with cali emissions you will still throw a code.
It is a y-pipe with 2 cats

Yeah, Toyotas are real whores when it comes to their Catalyst, especially with California emissions. I don't even see a California emission cat listed in my program. But even federal lists at $700

2 cats, one is part of the manifold. the manifold lists for $1,100 and cant be welded anyway. i say throw a spark plug anti-fouler between the downstream o2 and the pipe and be done with it.

I did not know this trick until I googled it. Picked up the anti-foulers and will be attempting soon.

I had a 99 540i they wanted $650 for a cat. Went to windy city mufflers and got one for $95 installed it worked fine got rid of the cel and ran great as well.

Thats the flex. Causing an exhaust leak, which could lead to the rear O2 to get false readings. At least thats what I am hoping.

Ironically, I had to go to Firestone to pay part of my bill. I showed them the picture. They said it was a cat.

Never. Going. There. Again. Not even for their $19.99 oil changes.
