:ugh:

Note to self, do not move to Singapore.

Whats even more insane is that there is even a car culture there, I can't imagine the kind of Loans the average person needs just to own a car there.

Shit it's to long for me right now I will take your word on it.

Cliffy's.

In Singapore, have to pay for the car, pay for a Certificate of Entitlement, and the Registration fee which is 100% the cost of the car.

The CoE, can be 100% or more of the vehicle price, and that only lasts for 10 years, after which the Gov will crush it if you don't renew.

CRAZY.

My Focus falls into the "B" category, because it makes more than 97kw (130hp). Thats $88,000 for the CoE ALONE.

Focus ST is 35k in S$.

35k car
35k registration fee
88k CoE

158,000 S$.

I just feel like unless rent there is 100 bucks a month, how anyone would even want a car there.

nope. renting an apartment or any sort of housing is ridiculous too. a friend's father lives in a very small studio apartment and pays $3500 a month (in hong kong, but living expense is very similar). my living room is bigger than his entire place. :ugh:

i dont understand why anyone would want to live there

The streets better be paved with gold for those prices. Especially if the government wants 80 grand for the "privilege" of driving a car.
