I absolutely LOVE my 06. Its comfy but fast as hell. They did a great job of putting the weight down low for a low center of gravity so it handles very well for a big bike. Fast as hell. Decent fuel mileage as long as you just cruise...open the throttle and it gets thirsty. Fast as hell. The 12/13 models make more power but are slightly heavier because they had to beef the frame up for the extra hp. The new models put down around 200 at the tire, the earlier models did around 170-175.

Here's a couple. Let me know if you'd like any to see any others, or a different angle.

BTW mine is all stock except lowering links, lowering strap in front, and some generic slip-on megaphone exhaust which actually sounds pretty good. Coming this winter...hopefully - 8" stretch, going even lower in the back, cut forks, Power Commander and Brock's pipe, either shortmeg or Alienhead haven't decided which yet.

The gen 1's have secondary throttle blades that open at like 5k, which restricts power until they open. It's rumored Kawasaki did that so people wouldn't loop the bikes. The bike pulls decent down low, but then when the butterflies open it just takes off. It's like a turbo really, kinda lags but then the power comes on all at once. It's common to remove those butterflies, which requires re-mapping with the power commander, but then the bike pulls hard through the whole rpm range which makes it even more of a beast. It was mostly only on 06-07 models, with the 08+ models the flies open a lot earlier so there's not as much to gain as with the earlier models. I'll also be doing this to mine as soon as I get a PC.

I like your bike. Post up some info on the shorty exhaust

Thanks. It's some generic no-name slip on megaphones with removeable baffles. No markings on them at all. It was on the bike when I got it. I found similar ones on ebay but not exact. Cant imagine they would sound much different than mine though. Just a megaphone with a straight-though perforated baffle wrapped in fiberglass packing...basically glasspacks for bikes lol

Exhausts:
Jardine-loud as fuck. Cheap
M4-a little quiter than Jardine. Cheap
Two Brothers-a little quieter than m4. Cheap.
No hp gains on any of those, but you'll drop some weight.
Akropovic full exhaust is the way to go if $ ain't a thang. Combined with a power commander, you can lower your et a little. Not a big fan of those heavy bikes but like the looks of these over the busa. At least you're not lowering a extending a curve taming beast like a 600 or liter bike.

For a slip on I like jardine. Looks the best and its not obnoxious loud. Plus, like you said, it's cheap. Lol. But if you're getting rid of the cat jardine is a no-go......deafening
