Removing OLD dealer stickers

Tricks of the trade for removing those flat dealer stickers? This one has been on for a decade and it is fighting hard to stay on...

Have you tried using a heat gun to soften up the adhesive?

Heat gun and a plastic razor blade, follow up with orange cleaner, the adhesive sucks dick on those flat ones

If you can get your hands on some...3m Adhesive cleaner. Awesome stuff. Removes anything but wont mess up the clearcoat or paint.

Work very very slowly whatever you do. Working at a dealer we get in old cars all the time and I've seen the porters struggle taking them off so I know it can be a bear

Ah I use the fishing line on the stupid "puffy" stickers the dealers use.

I will second the 3m adhesive remover. I keep a can in the cabinet for stuff like this.

You need to wrap a beach towel around a porter cable, dip it in sand, turn it on high, and lean into it with all your might.



Or try the good ideas already suggested.

I loaned my grinder out to my Dad, otherwise I would have just used that, after adding lots of sand for lubrication.

Knock on wood, so far this thing is amazing. Not perfect as you can see by how the hood and grill line up.... But well cared for. Maybe I'll do the pinstripe too, not sure yet.

Projects like this test my patience. I'll probably do it, but the pinstripe doesn't bother me as much. But it would make sense to do before I wax it.
