410hp Twin Turbo v6 AWD $70,000 on the window sticker

(a 2013 XTS 3.6 n/a loaded is $63,000... the 2014 TT at 70k is not a bad jump. Still wouldnt pay 70k on one, but some people will)

If only it wasn't front wheel drive. You just can't fight physics and with that much power even people who can't appreciate a good driver's car will notice the symptoms of a higher horsepower front wheel drive setup. I want to like it so bad though.

Exactly. And no one really bought them except for old people.

And GM cannot afford to build a whole new large RWD platform right now. Most of the foreign stuff doesnt meet our crash test ratings and would cost to much to engineer it to be left hand drive.

Cadillac cannot afford to have just two sedan models either but I think they were smoking crack with the pricing on the XTS. V sport or not.

i still dont understand why this is fwd based. every cadillac is rwd based except their flagship model? well and their srx crossover thingy. still, a rwd xts would open up a ton of awesome engine options for a V model.

Because it's intended to be an in-between model just to give them a flagship until they can get their head out of their ass and compete with the german companies with the larger cars. It's based off the Impala I believe.

i wonder though for the people who will be purchasing these if it matters that it is fwd/rwd... i mean it is awd?

Here's the conundrum... If someone is buying a V they're doing so because of the additional power so one would reasonably expect the driving dynamics not to suck and they unfortunately generally suck with cars like this.

Look at the Grand Prixs... I LOVED my 04 but I quickly grew tired of wrangling the car in when I went full throttle or having it almost take the steering wheel out of my hand.

Cars like these that are AWD with transversely mounted engines are still FWD based and they generally have reactive AWD systems that wait for the rear wheels to slip before they apply any power to them. In the real world this translates to a vehicle that still has wicked amounts of torque steer.
