Cam install?

Ive done any and all work to my car so far but I dont have the tools to put a cam in myself. I want to get a cam put in my car soon and Im looking for a shop or someone in the area who is up to the task.

when i had my prix, i just took it to ZZP. they had it done in a weekend (my aunt lives right by there shop so i just let them have it for the weekend. id highly recommend them if you dont mind the drive. i'm sure theres some local guys tho who could help

Im not sure what they would charge, but im almost positive I could get it done around here for much cheaper. It would be nice to know that a reputable shop is doing the work though. I'll shoot them an email for the hell of it.

i honestly dont remember the total cost. i had cam install, stock rockers reinstalled annnnd something else. cant remember. atune as well. i THINK the cost was somewhere upwards of 500? dont quote me on that tho

ZZP charges $450 if it's their cam, and $500 if it's yours, plus $100 for fluids and gaskets.

Any local shop that i know of will take you for a ride on a cam install.

i did mine myself and am never doing it again personally, it was too much of a bitch even with the engine out of the car.

Id reccomend 1.9 rockers instead, i liked the way the engine behaved with rockers than with a cam

you should go with a cam, mooks car with a cam was pretty sick, and from what he told me he wasn't happy with his rockers and thought they were a waste

There arent any rockers worth the money that will fit my car. Stock ratio is 1.6 and the highest anyone has been able to find that work are 1.65.

I already bought the cam, pushrods, new timing set, lifters, and gaskets. Im just looking for an installer.
