Time for a new battery?

My grand prix has been working fine, then randomly I get out of work and the car really hesitated to start. I am nearly certain that it related to the battery. It is a duralast gold battery purchased from auto zone, and it is probably 4-5 years old. I have topped it off with distilled water whenever it is low.

The lights turned on but it pretty much hesited for about 8 seconds while trying to start it. The lights turned on and off and the clock reset, indicating it lost power. Time for a new battery? Can I get this one recharged? Im curious if it is my alternator that is failing to charge the battery or if if the battery itself is just going south. I do hit the subwoofer pretty hard, but nothing over the top. Just single budget amp. No capacitor. Suggestions?

drive to auto zone. pull off Alt. have it tested. 4-5 year old battery should not need to be filled up. unless your sub is well over 1000 W you should have no problems with it.

Nope the Amp it probably 300 watts? Nothing serious at all. And its only been used for about 5 months.

4-5 years out of a duralast battery is a good run, especially with the heat were getting now, its due for replacement. id put money on it.

Its old. Buy a new one. Its lived a normal life.

Load test it. I bet it fails. Go get a new one.

Thanks for the recomendations. I picked up a replacement today. Starts fine. Ill take a multimeter to it soon and check the readings.

Reliable Battery Life is 5 years or less.
