Thoughts on Mazda RX8

I saw a 2009 RX8 Grand Touring for just under $19,000. The car caught my eye but I'm not sure about the little displacement motor. Coming from a 6.0 L Trailblazer SS.
Anyone on here have any thoughts on these cars for a daily driver / overall fun car to drive?

So this is pretty funny.
I stopped by the dealer and it wouldn't start. Sounded like the battery was dead. Can't sell a car if you can't get it started. Oops

Handling is good on them and thats about it, motors are bad eat oil and seals go bad quick not a good rotary motor to have.

The Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ should be approaching that price used soon.

Stay away from the RX-8. If you want something with questionable reliability that's fun to drive, one option is an E46 M3, which are numerous for less than $20k.

Those 13b's had oil injection into the chambers to help seal things.....it's the idiot owners that were the issue.


That renesis motor was just a turd and had way more sealing issues.

I've always loved the 98-02 Trans Am's and am on the hunt for one of those. Ones I see at the dealer are way over priced IMO. That car should not be $20,000. If I was gonna get like a 99 Trans Am I would try to get one for around $8,000.
