Just got offered a straight trade

A guy with a 1999 35th anniv Mustang GT has just offered me a straight up trade on the 98 Grand Prix Daytona I have. His had 84k miles with bolt ons and exhaust, mine with 3.4 bolt ons headers with 76k on it. I'm highly considering it for a DD replacement cause I'd like a rwd v8, but everyone I've talked to said 2v's are dogs and no gains unless you go boosted or spray, so stay with mine since its unique around here with its med gulf blue paint. And I'm just about to cam the GTP ha. What's your thoughts, I'd like to hear opinions if possible.

It would be hard to compare tho since I haven't really driven manuals alot and couldn't get a good feel for it to compare it to my car. I've been told they run same 1/4's stock to a pullied headered n tuned GTP.

A stock new edge mustang gt stick would probably run 14-14.5 . Your launch and shifting will be a big part of getting that . What bolt ons ?

Ya ik. Would still need headers, and whatever other bolt ons that are left. I just don't know if its worth he hassle of learning a new platform, having a RWD dd, and modding since I know more about the w bodies and where they stand with which mods. In all honesty, I just want a quick mid/low 13 second DD v8. I'm heading there with the GTP, but its still a GTP. But then again it's a Daytona that stands out, is in good condition, and has 10k less miles.

I can see that 2v on a DR crack 13s if you can drive it. I'd rock that over a GTP anyday. But I'm a Mustang fan, soooooo

With a Vortech @12psi made about 400rwhp ran low 12s@115+. Added cams picked up another 60rwhp

Even as a GTP nutswinger id say trade for the mustang. As long as its in good condition and wasn't beat to fuck its whole life. The mustang will have better resale also. I went from GTP to TA, to GTP, to TA, to (something completely different) Tahoe. In the last few years. Its always nice to switch it up.

99-04's that run 13's stock are few and far in between IMO. Kind of like the guys that run 13's in a GTP with 3.4 pulley as the only mod.

The Mustang is going to be far more fun to drive even if the GTP is faster by a few tenths, which it may be with headers (I ran 13.90s with 3.4 and downpipe, 13.70s with headers and 3.4 pulley, then 13.40s with 1.9 rockers, headers and 3.4 pulley).

Everyone always tells me a GTP is when it comes to bolt ons for both cars. Idk if i like the sleeper, unexpected look of my daytona or the more obnoxious well known perception of a mustang, even if it will be slower.

I don't know how old you are, but what would your insurance be with the mustang?
2 valve 4.6 can be fun with boost, spray ok bolts ons don't do much in power help. Do u ever have 4 people in the car? Mustang not fun to sit in back seat, also not as fun to dd in snow but this past winter sucked so didn't matter much. Both car worth about the same?
