Aston Martin DBS written off by £500 pink Vauxhall Corsa | Metro News

A luxury Aston Martin worth £180,000 has suffered the indignity of being written off by a £500 bright pink Vauxhall Corsa.

The super smooth DBS sports car may reach speeds topping 190mph but it had nowhere to go when the driver of the Corsa lost control of her vehicle on a roundabout next to a petrol station.

It careered into the side of the Aston, James Bond’s car of choice in 2006 hit film Casino Royale, leaving it damaged beyond repair.

The Aston’s owner – who asked to remain anonymous – said: ‘I was filling up and then I saw the car coming towards me.

‘She drove out of the petrol station onto the roundabout, lost it, and came over the kerb and came straight into the car. My car moved into the pump and bumped the pump off.

‘It will be a write-off. They won’t fix that.’

Nobody was injured in yesterday’s incident at the Esso garage in Kingshill, Swindon, and no arrests were made.

One passer-by said: ‘She lost control on the roundabout and span around and into the petrol station. It all happened so fast.’

Powered by a 6-litre V12 engine, the 510bhp DBS is capable of 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 190mph.

Prices started from £180,000 but the model was discontinued last year.

if i had that money into a car, i wouldnt accept any fixing or repairs like that. its not HIS insurance, im sure hes a good lawyer or has one and will get her insurance to buy him a new car. if i had that car, i would want it to be perfect.

also, you cant see if the rocker/floor was crushed or not. its not like its a simple door replacement.

ON A SIDE NOTE: i'd rock the shit out of that thing even with a smashed driver side hahaah

modern cars have ultra high strength steels around the passenger cabin that are an absolute pita to remove and replace...its easier to put everything onto a new unibody chassis but the labor required to do so as well as the cost of the unibody prob exceed the 70% rule so it'll be auctioned off for parts/scrap

im sure smug will contribute but anything 02 and later gets extremely expensive to fix if its damaged in the passenger cabin spaceframe
