I am looking at strengthening up my transmission for my 87 IROC. It has a 700R4 in it and I was wondering if anyone had experience with purchasing an built kit from any specific company. I am looking at Monster transmission currently. They have a kit that is 479$ with free shipping. This kit is rated at 500 hp and 450 lb-ft torque. My engine was rated around 491 hp at the crank i think and I am pretty sure my torque is at least that. I am on the edge of where they rated it at but Im sure I will be alright.
Anyone had any experience with monster transmissions or any input on another comparable company?? Please let me know!
