You would be surprised what i read on a similiar situation your having.

Check your pin connections clean them up. If an ecu is bad it wont ever respond just by unplugging and hooking up batteries shouldnt make a difference. At least i know when a ecu is fried or fries or is shot it just dont respond.

it had a superchip on it... took a while to even get it off because it wouldn't read it. scanner cant pick up any codes either...

where is the truck? have you tried all the stupid simple things?
and if a mechanic already said it needs a ECU, why are you asking about other possibilitys?

its here in iowa... he said that's the only thing he can think of. its a small shop (buddy of mine)
