Brake Glazing

I think my pads are glazed over, fucking shit wont even lock up the fronts not even when i stand on the pedal and the ground is wet. Is there a way to get rid of this or should i just go out and buy some new pads? Also, what pads do you guys recommend?

Wagner thermo quiets. Probably need rotors too.

First check to see how much pad you have left. If its more than half then try scuffing them with some sand paper just enough to take the glaze off (assuming that there flat). If the rotors need resurfacing then that may solve the problem.

What pads are you using? Some of the newer pads like Carbomets don't work well in the cold. They need to warm up to work well. If they are regular pads, Then they (or even the rotor) could be glazed. Does the rotor have a bluish/black shiny hue to it?

Sand Paper... It should take the glaze off and help you get some more life, otherwise get them cut.

They are just OE replacements and the rotors are less than a year old. I know i got them heated up fully because i was doing several 40-0 stops on my way home from work. I'll check later if the rotors have a blue tinge to them.

Well i did some driving today, the Pedal is a little softer from what i remember. It takes a lot more pedal travel to make it slow. The good news is that i washed out the wheels so all the ice and snow is gone so the wheels are back to being balance.

The SVO is under a car cover and about 2ft of snow. I would never drive a fox body in the winter. I've only driven it in the rain twice.
