harmonic balancer issue

trying to finish up my 6.0 swap. ordered a new slp underdrive balancer and trying to put it on. i pushed it on there, but my install tool isnt long enough to grab any threads, nor is the factory bolt. but i can't push it on any further. so now i have an issue i can't pull it off either because i cant get the bolt in....

any help???

Some will crucify me for this post, but take a 2x4, set it up against it and tap it on further.
Or buy a longer bolt.

got the pulley pressed on more....but now....as im trying to tighten it down more, im just turning the motor over...how do i tighten the pulley without the motor turning over?

Shouldnt have any issues at all with the first one. Fool proof.

I used the hawk one. Works wonders. Otherwise you need the trans off to hold the flex plate

Couldn't you apply some heat to expand the metal a bit or will that damage the balancer?

yup, i used the hawk tool to press the pulley on (borrowed from a friend) so now i put the new bolt in and need to torque it down, plus turn it another 140 degrees...the starter is already off, so im going to have a friend give me a hand by trying to hold the flexplate using a pry bar.

If you don't make it that full 140 don't freak out haha I think few people actually do

tricks I was told, you could put the pulley in an oven and heat it, then slip it right on. when it cools it'll be snug. I was gonna say use a prybar to lock the flexplate

If you get an ARP bolt you can just put it in with an impact. Then you can re-use it forever and ever.
