this is my dads truck. bought new in 95. now has 300k miles on it. original motor. about the 4th trans haha. i learned how to drive at 5 years old in this thing, got my license, first wheelin experince... this thing has been a part of our family.

he got it painted a few years back and fixed the rust on the bottom of the doors and did most the body work him self. probably total cost of $3000... well you get what you pay for. it was decent looking but the last few years its started rusting again and has a dozen new dents and dings. so this time he went all out. new fenders, rear wheel arches, POR15 the frame after sandblasting, all new paint, and new doors instead of replacement panels. estimated $5800 job. plus hes redoing the interior. new carpet and reupholstered seats. its all stock and he likes it that way. 35" tires on factory 2" lift. more pics to come.

before it ever got painted.

psh! 5.9 with offroad package (2" factory lift and skid plates), factory tow package (3.92 gears and external tans cooler), factory roll pan (extremely rare $400 option). he custom ordered it with everything he wanted. even with almost every option box checked the truck still cost him about 17k out the door back in 95!!! try doing that now a-days and your talking 40k!!!

ive had my fair share of driving and beating this thing. not too much wheelin but the motor was beat on by a novice 16yr old lead foot :D hahaah.

last winter i did intake gaskets, timing chain, tune up, harmonic balancer, and cleaned up the engine bay. i also bought him the 3" glass pack exhaust from the cat back. oh and the tires i bought for him last winter. i love this truck.

Beautiful Dodge! I used to have a '97 1500 Sport. Mine wasn't as optioned as yours and it had silver mirrors and a solid rear window. Seeing these pictures has brought back some good memories. I loved that truck but sold it when I got married and I bought a GP. Anyway, I still think this is the best Ram body style ever! Great job on the restoration so far too :bigthumb:

i agree. the last style with a solid front axle too. i wont buy a 1500 anymore. if the 1500s still had SFA i would.

after they painted the doors, hood, and tailgate metalic black, they had to fix it. the truck is back together and looking good. this is pre tint

and after i got the tint put on. 100% better. went 35% all around for the old man "who's going blind" haha

i didnt tell my dad about the tint. he was out of town for work and i stole it from the body shop for an evening. i wonder how long it will take him to notice :D

also have weather tech floormats ordered up for him. another surprise.
