Copied from my ls1tech post:
Ok, I'm on the hunt for my 96 Mystic teal Formula. I miss it dearly and would like to have it back.
I traded the car about 4 years ago to a gentleman named Mick in elk grove village. When I traded it to him, I gave him a xfi268 cam kit with springs, rockets, rods, etc. It also had prostars on it, a nx wet kit, hooker catback, bmr frame ties, a small converter, etc.
That was the last time I seen it. I asked him (Mick) if he still had it about 2.5 years ago, and he informed me he sold it.
I sign back on here recently, and had a p/m from 2yrs ago from a gentleman with s/n TheDoc22, saying he owned the car,and had some questions. The number he left me is no longer in service tho. His name is Justin Walsch.
If any of u have any info on my old car,ill be forever in debt to u.
Here are some pics of it, when I had it ...
Here is Justins original p/m to me.......
Again, any info is more then appreciated!
Thanks,
Dale

My name's Justin Walsh.. and I think we've fallen victim to "it's a
small, small world" syndrome.
Last week I purchased a 1996 Formula LT1 A4 with 106k from a guy who
claimed he was out of work and had medical bills to pay. His name was
Mick Nelson from Elk Grove Village; I found him on Craigslist.
I purchased the car looking for a straight-line toy and, man, I found
the steal of the century. This beautiful f-body was pretty much
fully-bolted with nitrous, clearly had some low-quality body work done
to it and came with a set of slicks, a brand new cam, set of pushrods
and tstat. I signed up on ls1tech.com earlier this week and made an
introductory post here:
Newbie. Need to be pointed in the right direction! - LS1TECH
Well, I came home from work tonight and happened to have some time to
kill so I began searching out information on the 268XFI cam that's
sitting, unused, on my desk and I find this guy - you - who seemed to
be asking the same questions I had. Then I noticed you're from
Illinois. Then I noticed the car you had a picture of in your
signature looked a lot like the one I just purchased. Then I looked at
your previous posts and photo gallery (the pictures of the nitrous
solenoids confirmed it for me) and .. wow. It's you.
I have quite a few questions! I am PMing you on here and I sent you an email I got from Googling your AIM name. I really hope you'll check it.
So, the car has been wrecked. Not a huge surprise. The frame,
visually, looks straight.. front bumper cover has been replaced, the
hatch rattles, and the pass side fender definitely doesn't line up as
pretty as it should, but overall I'm content with it. Who did the
repairs? Was it you, a third party, or the guy I bought the car from
(if you even know)?
What mods were on the car when you got rid of it? The person I got the
car from was.. less than perfectly desrcript about the work that had
been done to it.. he didn't even know what converter was in it.
Reading your previous posts I see it's a 2800 stall, so I guess that's
one question answered, but any further information you could give up..
I'd absolutely love to know.
DId you ever tune it? I was told it had been done at Speed Inc. in
Schaumburg (the mod list when it was tuned would help me out here, so
I know if the tune is still even good for the car). Was it ever
dyno'd? What were your best passes in the quarter?
Really, I mean.. I'm just looking for any information/story you're
willing to give up. I think it's really cool that I was able to just
stumble upon you. My only bit of trepidation with the purchase was
that the kid guy I bought it from didn't seem to be too overly
knowledgeable about the car's history. The car is absolutely awesome,
and was something you, obviously, cared a great deal about.. and I
want to assure you that I intend on treating it just as well : )
Reading through your profile on ls1tech, you're obviously a car guy.
What are you driving now? If you miss the car and would like to head
up to RT41 or GLD, I'd gladly let you make a pass with it, in exchange
for anything you can tell me - good or bad haha Ok, I'm on the hunt for my 96 Mystic teal Formula. I miss it dearly and would like to have it back.
