DIY bedliner?

who's done it? The f250 i just bought has a drop in liner, which i dislike. I pulled it up earlier and filled an entire garbage can with shit that was trapped underneath.

worth the DIY, or get it sprayed somewhere?

Line-X is a really really good product. But $$$$

The duplicolor roll on stuff with Kevlar is suppose to be really good as well but I hear a PITA to apply

Roll on isn't bad, but hard to make look good. If cheap is what you want, roll on is aight.

Then Duplicolor spray in would work fine. Prep is everything tho

im fairly proficient at painting, decent surface prep and a case of beer makes it easy

The duplicolor stuff sucks. Go with herculiner.

My buddy lined his whole jeep with it and scrubs it on rocks/trees each trip and the metal will actually dent in while the herculiner just stays put.

herculiner but dont shake up the cans, leave all the rubber bits on the bottom of the can....if you want to have that shit then just apply it on the second coat...its hard to slide stuff on it as is, the grit was just annoying and made cleaning it out a bitch

did the bed of one tow truck with the grit and it held up to a years worth of abuse pretty well, but the second truck i restored we left the grit at the bottom and rolled it smooth, turned out soooo much better and easier to clean (whole damn 97 350 4x4 & wrecker bed was "safety yellow" we used alot of the herculiner unmixed on the front pushbumper/bedside edges/lower cab/roof to "tone it down"

even did the jambs and floor (way more $ for a repl vinyl floor)

id use it again in a heartbeat...

I did herculiner on a buddies truck. It's held up pretty well. I would prob do double the amount they call for though. To prep it right (which is key) is kind of a pain, but other than that it's not bad.

A whole lot of sanding. If you have a DA it helps a ton, but you still have to get down into the recessed areas of the bed by hand.

For sure! I used hurculiner on my work van rockers and after 3 years needs another coat, you can see white through it in many places. I did my jeep on the inside (tub) with it and didnt like it either. Spend the money and do linex

Raptor liner was retarded tough, nothing took that shit off and you spray it on with an actual spray gun deal. makes a fucking mess. BUT it worked well.

yeaaaaa fuck this. way more of a project than I want to get involved in. I cleaned up all the bare metal on the bed and slapped a coat of primer on. putting the drop in liner back on the truck. it's going to have a tonneau cover soon
